Non-Profit Nights: CCT Can Help You Make Money For Your Community Non-profit Organization
CCT has a program of “Theatre Nights for Non-profits” to help raise funds for your 501(c)3 community organization.
On the second, third and fourth Thursday nights of each run of our five annual shows CCT offers the theater to non-profits to sell tickets to the current show.
If you have an organization whose members or friends would enjoy a night of excellent theatre and you can promote ticket sales effectively, this can be a very good way to raise funds for the group. Many organizations have used this fund raising opportunity in previous years and this has helped bring new people into our great little theatre.
Here’s how it works:
-
The non-profit organization contacts CCT at least 8 weeks in advance to select a date and play that it wishes to promote.
-
After selecting a date, the organization pays CCT $250.00 to reserve it and to cover CCT’s costs. These include royalties for the play, someone to open the theater at 7:00 PM and close it after the patrons and cast leave, assistance at the box office on the night of the play if necessary, and provision of reserved seat tickets for the 67 seats available.
-
The organization is then responsible for handling all ticket sales at whatever price it wishes to set. CCT does not handle any ticket sales through its box office or assist in promotion of ticket sales. For example, if the organization sells all 67 tickets at $25.00 (the price at the door for regular CCT productions), the gross would be $1675.00 and the net $1425.00 ($1675.00 - $250.00). Obviously, if fewer tickets are sold, or a different price is set by the organization, the result will differ.
-
CCT does ask that a participating organization reasonably expect to sell at least 40 tickets to people who will actually attend, so that the audience is not too small to make the evening a good theatre experience.
If interested, please contact the theatre by telephone (510) 569 8995, or email to discuss arrangements.
